# OKRGoal > Stop storing OKRs. Start running them. OKRGoal is the software an organisation runs its OKRs on, from the annual plan to the quarterly close, with the method built in. Most organisations do not fail at OKRs because of the tool. They fail because the rhythm stops. OKRGoal puts the method in the product and makes the product active. An AI Coach checks every objective and key result as you write it. An AI Champion keeps the weekly rhythm, in Slack, Teams, WhatsApp, Telegram and email. Every message cites the rule behind it, so you can argue with it. Turn the AI off and every rule but one still runs. It runs on OpenOKR, which is open source, so nothing is gated and you can run it yourself or let us run it. It is built by OKR Institute, on what it has learned coaching organisations through OKRs since 2017. OKR Institute is the company. OKRGoal is the cloud product: OpenOKR, run for you by OKR Institute. OpenOKR is the open source product, under AGPL-3.0, for organisations that host it themselves. Cloud and self-host run the same release. OKRGoal is not a course or a training product: OKR Institute runs courses and certification, separately from the product. Every page below is linked as Markdown. By default only structural defects block publishing. Everything else coaches. - Twenty-five practice settings and five profiles: Recommended, Google-style, Radical Focus, Lightweight and Governed. - Two AI teammates ship with every workspace: the OKR Coach and the OKR Champion. They never count as seats. - Every message cites the rule behind it. By default an agent proposes and a person approves. - Turn AI off and every escalation, gate, score and diagnostic still runs, and every nudge but the one that needs a model. - It reaches people in the browser, email, Slack, Microsoft Teams, WhatsApp, Telegram, and their own AI agent. - A Model Context Protocol server with OAuth 2.1 sign-in. Almost everything a person can do in OKRGoal, an agent can do. - AI providers: Anthropic, OpenAI, Gemini, OpenRouter, Ollama, or any OpenAI-compatible endpoint. Point it at a local model and nothing leaves. - Open source under AGPL-3.0. Nothing is feature-gated. Self-host is never seat-limited. - Run it unchanged for your own staff and you owe nothing. Change it, and offer the people who use your version its source, your own staff included. - PostgreSQL is the only service it needs. About half an hour on one server, or a Helm chart for your own cluster. - Runs fully offline: a local model or no AI, self-hosted assets, no telemetry unless you opt in. - Single sign-on with OIDC and SAML 2.0, included in the open source edition. SCIM 2.0 for Okta, Entra ID and others. - Isolation is enforced inside the database by row-level security. An append-only audit log, hash-chained so tampering shows. - Cloud plans are priced by the AI credits they include, with a free plan. A plan is a monthly allowance of AI credits, a number of seats and a level of support. Never a feature list. - Export the whole workspace to an encrypted, checksummed archive, sealed with a passphrase you choose, and import it into any other instance, cloud or self-hosted, in either direction. ## Start here - [Home](https://okrgoal.com/index.md): OKRGoal runs your organisation's OKRs, from the annual plan to the quarterly close. An AI Coach checks every objective as you write it, and an AI Champion keeps the weekly rhythm in Slack, Teams and WhatsApp. From OKR Institute, built on open source OpenOKR. Free to start. ## Product - [Product tour](https://okrgoal.com/product/index.md): Plan the year, draft against twenty-six quality checks, commit through gates, run the weekly rhythm, and close the quarter with an honest diagnosis. A tour of OKRGoal, in the order a quarter runs. - [The method](https://okrgoal.com/product/method.md): OKRGoal ships the full OKR method as rules that run on your OKRs: a guided eight-phase cycle, twenty-six quality checks on your drafts and your cycle, publish gates, an alignment score and a closing diagnostic. Every rule is public and changeable. - [The agents](https://okrgoal.com/product/agents.md): Two AI teammates ship with every OKRGoal workspace. The Coach guards quality and the Champion keeps the rhythm. They propose, you approve, every message cites a rule, and they still work with AI switched off. - [The rhythm](https://okrgoal.com/product/rhythm.md): A weekly check-in of fifteen to thirty minutes in four steps, a To do list that says what you owe, blockers held to the next check-in, and a ninety-minute quarterly review that tells you whether a miss was more likely strategy or rhythm. - [KPIs](https://okrgoal.com/product/kpis.md): Build KPI driver trees with calculated formulas and health bands. When a KPI turns unhealthy, OKRGoal offers three responses, including a recovery OKR drafted from the drivers that are short. - [Integrations](https://okrgoal.com/product/integrations.md): OKRGoal reaches people in Slack, Microsoft Teams, WhatsApp, Telegram and email, connects to Claude, ChatGPT and your own agents over MCP, and brings your own AI model. Plus SSO, SCIM, a REST API, a CLI and importers. - [Live demo](https://okrgoal.com/demo.md): Sign in as a person at Northwind Labs, an invented company of 180 people, and see a year of OKRs in OKRGoal, written up to today's date: drafts, check-ins, a KPI recovery, a reorganisation and the quarterly reviews. No sign-up. ## Solutions - [Growing companies](https://okrgoal.com/solutions/growing-companies.md): Your first OKR rollout, done properly. OKRGoal checks every draft, runs the weekly check-in and chases what is late in Slack, so OKRs survive past March. Free to start. - [Universities and public sector](https://okrgoal.com/solutions/public-sector.md): Run OpenOKR on your own servers, in your own country, even fully offline. Single sign-on, directory sync, a tamper-evident audit log, AI you can switch off, and no seat limits. Open source under AGPL-3.0. - [Consultancies and OKR coaches](https://okrgoal.com/solutions/consultancies.md): OKRGoal keeps your clients' OKRs running between your workshops: quality checks on every draft, a weekly rhythm with teeth, and a quarterly review you facilitate. Tune it to your method, and help shape the open method itself. - [Why OKRGoal](https://okrgoal.com/why-okrgoal.md): Spreadsheets have no rhythm. OKR trackers store objectives and wait. Consultants leave. OKRGoal puts the method in the product, makes the product active, and lets you own it. An honest comparison. ## Plans, hosting and security - [Pricing](https://okrgoal.com/pricing.md): OpenOKR is free to self-host with every feature and no seat limit. OKRGoal has a free plan and plans that differ only in AI credits, seats and support. Never in features. - [Cloud](https://okrgoal.com/cloud.md): OKRGoal is OpenOKR, run for you by OKR Institute, the team that builds it. Every feature, a free plan, backups and upgrades handled, and your whole workspace exportable at any time. - [Self-host](https://okrgoal.com/open-source.md): Run OpenOKR on your own server with Docker Compose, or on Kubernetes with Helm. PostgreSQL is the only dependency. AGPL-3.0, every feature, no seat limit, no licence key, air-gap capable. - [Enterprise](https://okrgoal.com/enterprise.md): Run OKRs across the whole organisation on one governed method, with single sign-on and directory sync, a tamper-evident audit log, AI you control, and rollout support from OKR Institute. Cloud, self-hosted or air-gapped. - [Security](https://okrgoal.com/security.md): Tenant isolation inside PostgreSQL, one authorisation checkpoint, a hash-chained audit log, envelope-encrypted secrets, signed releases, consent-only support access, and AI you control. Open source, so you can read all of it. ## Company and community - [Resources](https://okrgoal.com/resources.md): Learn the method, then run your OKRs on it. The OpenOKR handbook, one company's year of OKRs step by step, the documentation, the API reference and every release note. - [Community](https://okrgoal.com/community.md): OpenOKR is built in the open under AGPL-3.0. Contribute code, challenge a rule in the method, report a bug or ask for help. - [About](https://okrgoal.com/about.md): OKRGoal and OpenOKR are built by OKR Institute, which has coached, trained and certified OKR practitioners since 2017, in more than 50 countries.
